Olivia-Jade Gardiner – Headteacher
Originally from Oxford, Olivia was performing from a young age, she trained at Jill Clewes Dance Academy and then The Academy of Theatre Arts studying Musical Theatre, before going on to further her training on the BA Hons Acting Course at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London.
Credits include Maria, Singer – Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Lizette,Fanatical -Karamel Club, Kay, Balm in Gilead- Arcola Theatre.
Olivia has always had a passion for teaching and helping young people which is evident in her commitment to her work with special needs children for the last 3 years, specialising in Autism. Combining her performance skills with her fantastic, and inclusive, teaching ability is what has inspired her open a theatre school of her own.
Olivia has almost 10 years of teaching experience in many capacities. She has taught freelance Drama and Musical Theatre to many young people around the country, as well as being a fully certified LAMDA teacher.
Jessica graduated from Bird College in summer 2016, returning to work there later that year. She is now assistant to the Joint Principal and Artistic Director, as well as being responsible for co-ordinating the timetable and short courses.
During her brief performing career she appeared as a dancer for KSPARK at The Rose Theatre, Kingston, and Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot’, Trinity Theatre, Tonbridge Wells, as Ensemble. Whilst studying at Bird Jessica was Dance Captain on Hello Dolly and Chicago, as well as multiple other productions.
Jessica has over 10 years experience teaching young professional performers in Jazz and Musical Theatre.
Jemma graduated from Mountview Academy in 2016 and joined the West End cast of ‘Mamma Mia!’ to play Ali and also covered and played Sophie Sheridan. She then went on to tour the UK and Ireland with the most recent production of ‘Shrek The Musical’, playing Gingy/Sugar Plum Fairy whilst also covering and playing Princess Fiona.
Most recently Jemma was part of the workshop for Andrew Lloyd-Webbers all new ‘Cinderella’ where she played Ensemble/Little Maid.
Jemma will be joining the original cast of Back To The Future: The Musical at Manchester Opera House in January 2020.
Robert Rhodes is an Actor, Singer and Dancer who trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre arts where he learnt many skills including Improvisation, Acting For Camera, Voice, Movement and studied a variety of classical and contemporary texts. Since graduating he has performed in, Theatre, Immersive Theatre and Recorded media.
His Credits include:
SYKENS – The Invitation, BERTIE – Silence, QUASIMODO – The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, LEAD HERO – Heroist by Apparat, PETER – The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe and he has appeared alongside Gerard Butler in a commercial for Enterprise Car Hire.
Robert is over the moon to be working with Expressive Arts Academy to bring the Joy of performance to a new generation of actors!
